United States Sailing has named 13 athletes to their ISAF Youth World Championships Team 2015. As the primary youth event in the world international sailing, the ISAF Youth Worlds will take place on 24th December, 2015 to 3rd January, 2016 in Langkawi, Malaysia.
US Olympic Sailing’s Managing Director Josh Adams said that the 13 American sailors who have qualified to represent the United States at this event must be very proud. The United States Sailing is a great supporter of the ISAF Youth Worlds, and they believe that youth racers must strive to compete at this level. They are very excited to offer the highest level of preparation and training ever given to an United States Sailing Youth Worlds Team in the form of committed training camps as well as world-class coaching, which is fundamental to the new Olympic Development Program launched by United States Sailing in early 2015.
The US Sailing is bringing unexampled resources to bear in accompaniment of the Youth Worlds Team 2015. Three ODP Training Camps have been masterminded in the fall of 2015 in Miami, FL, for the Laser Radial, 29er, I420, F16 and RS:X classes.
According to reports, US Sailing’s Youth Development Director said that these camps are the first of their kind taking place in the United States. In addition to including the team members, they also invited several other top youth sailors to train as part of a group, and get coaching. This is all about raising the overall level of youth racing in the country, and also serving these sailors perform well at the biggest youth event in the world.
